Four reasons of the American Civil War will be found on this website. Reasons such as the differing economies, the different rights, the Abolitionist Movement, and the election of Lincoln.  On each page there will be important people, a primary(something that was there.) resource, and important events. Each page of information has a picture(s) for references as well. There will also be a page about the very important(and well known.) people. People like Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Lee, and Grant are important figures of this war.

About the war.

The civil war was a four year long battle fought by the Northern states, whom were known as the Union army, and the Southern states known as the Confederate army. The Southern states were also known as the Confederate States of America after they seceded from the Union. Abraham Lincoln was the president at the time when the war started, in fact, his election was a cause of the war. The South felt threatened, for they knew Lincoln disagreed with slavery. The South depended on slaves to work on their plantations and create their profit. The North however, depended on factories and immgrants to work in them for little pay.
